2019 GB Squad Announced!

With great pleasure the GBSF is proud to announce the 2019 GB Squad, full of both returning and new members who are deemed to be at or near to the standard of international competition! These athletes will be the pool that our Team will be selected from for the upcoming European Savate Assaut Championships in Genoa in October.

British Savate Assaut and Canne de Combat Championships 2019 – Registration now open

Registration is now open so sign up now.

You can sign up for the British championships in Savate Assaut and/or Canne, or for open Assaut matches only.

Fighter registration deadline is midnight on Saturday 4th May. Prices go up towards the end of April so sign up soon to get the best rate!

Results of the Senior and Junior Savate Assaut Championships 2018

Held at Broadwater School on 12th May 2018, this was our first official Savate Assaut Junior Championship! It was a very exciting day with nearly 100 fighters in total, 3 rings and a film crew. We saw some terrific new talent, especially amongst the juniors, and awarded the first annual Phil Read Trophy for best junior (given in memory of GBSF founder Phil Read, who sadly passed away last year).

Dr. Julie Gabriel awarded Gant D’Or

Dr Julie Gabriel, President of FISav and founder member of the GBSF, was awarded the prestigious honorific Gant d’Or, or Golden Glove, at Loverval in Belgium, by the European Confederation in October 2017.

Brighton Savate Seminar and Open Competition

Brighton Savate is absolutely delighted to be putting on an event for the first time on England’s south coast on APRIL 7th-8th 2018.

The event begins on Saturday with a set of seminars, in which numerous French and European Champion Savateurs from France will be coming over to share their skills; alongside a team of instructors including newly crowned world champions Romain Falendry and Amine Feddal from Tolouse Multi-Boxe, ABC La Rochelle head coach Vincent Lesieur and head coach of Toronto Savate,

REGULATIONS

Participation
– Athletes must meet one or more of the GB title eligibility requirements, these being:
1) hold a UK passport.
2) are a Permanent Resident of the UK.
3) have the legal right to live in the UK, currently live in the UK and have been a GBSF member for at least 6 months.

James Southwood passes GAT1

Very many congratulations to James Southwood on gaining his GAT1 (first degree silver glove) at a grading in France this summer, making him only the second GBSF memer ever to do so.
